Belavichi. Church of the Intercession.
In the Mosty district, to the south of the district center, there is a place called Belavichi. A 19th-century stone Orthodox church and the remains of a manor house with a roadside chapel have been preserved here.
The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos was built on the westernmost tip of the village near the main road. The temple was built in 1822 on a hill by the Honorata Askerka foundation. The shrine was originally built as a Uniate church and was consecrated in honor of the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the ban of Uniatism in the Russian Empire in 1839, the building was handed over to Orthodox believers. And the church was consecrated as the Holy Protection Church. In Soviet times, the shrine was not closed.
The building is made of stone, built of rubble stone. An architectural monument in the classical style with Baroque elements. It consists of two main architectural parts: a prayer hall and a semicircular apse. The temple has a rectangle in the plan. The main facade is decorated with four pilasters, an entablature and a figured pediment. An octagonal drum with an onion dome has been erected above the facade.
The interior is of a communal type. There is a two-tiered iconostasis. A two-tiered bell tower in the classical style was built in front of the church.
