Baranovichi. The Excise Office building.

The excise office building is designed in an eclectic style. Its symmetrical shape, high ceilings, large windows and decorative details such as cornices and columns create an impressive and representative impression. The use of natural materials such as brick and stone adds strength and durability to the building.

The Excise Department played an important role in the economic development of Baranovichi and the surrounding areas, controlling the collection of excise taxes and taxes on goods. This building served as a center for trade management and regulation, which contributed to the formation of infrastructure and improved business activity in the region.

After the 1917 revolution and during the Soviet period, the building continued to perform administrative functions, serving various government agencies.

In various years, the building had an excise office, later a Polish gymnasium, and an NKVD cantor. In the Soviet years, the House of Pioneers was located here, where children's clubs were held. Then, until 2009, there was an economics and law college in the building. Since 2009, the room has been empty and is being intensively destroyed.

In the 21st century, it is an important part of the cultural heritage of Baranovichi and attracts the attention of tourists, as well as serves as an object of interest for architects and historians. The Excise Office building built in 1902 in Baranovichi is an important historical and architectural object that reflects the rich past of the region.

Residents of the city call this historic building "problematic". It was sold at auction several times, but the owners, for various reasons, could not take care of their property.

Restoration work is required here, but unfortunately they are not carried out and the building is being destroyed.
