Bakshty. Fortifications of the First World War
The town of Bakshty has been known since the 15th century. During the First World War, the town was captured by the Kaiser's troops for several years. The Germans built long-term defense units. Two such engineering objects have survived to our time. To see them, you need to drive through the entire village to the modern Orthodox church of St. Panteleimon. And on the hill opposite the church is the old cemetery, where from the edge you will see a large reinforced concrete box of the German DZOTA. You can climb into it, and also onto the roof. It has several departments with doorways between them. Holes for weapons in the walls. Another military structure is located on a private plot, which the owners use as a burial ground. This is a manor house to the right of the church if you stand with your back to the church. Studying the data of historical artifacts of the World War will bring you real pleasure, because they are very well preserved and impressive in their size.
