Alba. St. George the Victorious Church.
In the Ivatsevichi district, on the way from Ruzhany to Ivatsevichi, there is a place called Alba. An Orthodox wooden church of St. George was built in the local cemetery. The temple was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1692, or, according to other sources, in 1790.
The church, most likely, first belonged to the Uniates, and then passed to the Orthodox during the time of the Russian Empire. The shrine was built at the expense of parishioners.
In 1908, the bell tower was completed and the building underwent major repairs.
During the First World War, the church was damaged and rebuilt during the interwar period during the time of the Polish state.
After the Great Patriotic War in 1964, the shrine was closed. The building was handed over to believers only at the end of the existence of the Soviet Union in 1989. Repairs were carried out and in 1991 the church was consecrated by Bishop Stefan of Pinsk and Luninets.
The building was built in the traditions of wooden folk architecture. It consists of three main parts: the vestibule, the prayer hall and the apse. A multi-tiered bell tower is built above the vestibule, which is completed with a multi-faceted tent. A canopy on wooden pillars is attached to the narthex. A stone fence has been erected around the temple.
