The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Adamovichi is an architectural monument of late classicism.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Adamovichi is an outstanding architectural monument belonging to the belated classicism. It is located in the northwestern part of the village of Adamovichi, in the Grodno region. The temple was built of stone in 1854 and has a rectangular shape in plan and is covered with a hip roof.

Above the main volume of the building stands a square two-tiered belfry topped with a four-sided tent. Above the main entrance, you can see an image of the sacred Thekla, called the patroness of the church.

The walls of the cathedral are plastered and decorated with pilasters, and the window openings have an arched shape. The design of the cathedral is three-hall, with a flat ceiling. The presbytery is separated from the main hall by walls with arched openings. There are three altars inside the temple.

Today, the church is active and accepts parishioners. It is especially beautiful in winter, when everything is covered with white snow and the walls of the temple take on a fascinating appearance. At this time, parishioners can often be found strolling here.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Adamovichi is one of the most famous and attractive churches in the region. Its ancient walls preserve the rich history of the Belarusian people, including both bright and tragic pages of the development of national culture.

Adamovichi. Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

In the Grodno region, in the village of Adamovichi, there is a stone Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Originally, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Adamovichi belonged to a Catholic parish in the neighboring town of Lipsk in the 16th century. A little later, this place became part of Prussia and the question arose about the formation of its own parish in Adamovichi. The first church was built in 1800 with the money of the parishioners.

The shrine was consecrated in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The temple was wooden, the roof of which was covered with shingles. The dominant feature was a wooden dome with an Iron Cross and there was also a small bell. The interior had a main altar with a tabernacle, which was made of polychromed antique. A little later, the roof was covered with tiles.

Then work began on the construction of a new church. In the summer of 1854, the foundation stone of the new shrine was laid. The construction of the church was financed from the state treasury and at the expense of parishioners. The stone church was completed in 1855. During the Second World War, the temple suffered a lot during the military operations. The tower and the interior of the ancient organ and choirs were destroyed.

After the war, the church was in a neglected state for a long time. And it was only with the collapse of the USSR that the temple began to be repaired. In 1994, the church began to work. The monument has a rectangular shape in the plan. The temple is covered with a hip roof. Above the main facade is a four-tiered two-tiered bell tower. The interior is of a communal type. There is an apse with side sacristy, three altars made in the technique of knocking with images of angels.
