Description

Volozhin district is famous for its rich past and architectural heritage.


Our journey will begin in a village with an unusual name Dubina Yurzdytskaya. On the outskirts of the village we will see a stone Orthodox church built in 1868, which was consecrated in honor of St. George the Victor.


Next, we will go to the village of Dovbeni to see its main attraction, the stone Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.


The next stop is the village of Pershai, where we will visit the Church of St. George and Our Lady.


In the village of Vyaloe, we will be impressed by the ruins of Count Tyshkevich's estate.


Later we will go to the small village of Kamen in the Volozhin district, which has several interesting monuments: a huge boulder stone, which is a natural monument, Castle Hill, an outbuilding from the manor house and the church of Peter and Paul.


We will also visit the small town of Ivenets, where we will inspect the ruins of the Plevako estate and see the important dominant Church of St. Michael the Archangel.


In the village of Pralniki we will visit an unusual stone temple-rotunda. And in the town of Tupalshchyna, we will visit the tomb chapel of the Zhabrovskys, next to which the classic of Belarusian literature Vincent Dunin–Martsinkevich is buried.


We will admire the ancient temples in the villages of Kievets and Yarshevichi.


In the small town of Rakov, we will visit Christian shrines - the Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord of the 18th century and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the early 20th century.
