Let's embark on an exciting journey through the Volkovysk region, where we will discover its rich historical heritage.
We will get acquainted with the surviving ancient manors, as well as with the historical and cultural monuments of the area, among which the ancient Orthodox churches occupy a special place.
In the village of Vereyki, we will see the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a unique architectural monument that is almost two centuries old.
We will visit the village of Volpa. The main attraction of the village is the Church of St. John the Baptist, which was built in 1773 and is a prominent architectural monument of the 18th century. We will also visit the Catholic chapel at the local cemetery and the Church of Peter and Paul.
Next, we will go to the town of Ross, which has been known since the 16th century, and where there are several pre-revolutionary monuments of architecture and antiquity. Here we will see the preserved remains of the Potocki estate with outbuildings and a mill, a synagogue, a church and an Orthodox church.
Later we will be able to admire the views of extraordinary beauty by visiting the chalk quarries near Volkovysk.
