Description

The starting point on the way to the Mstislavl region will be the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in the village of Sukhari. This is one of the few churches that has always been active and has not been closed even during the time of atheism.


Then we proceed to the village of Ryasno, historically famous since the middle of the 14th century. At the entrance to it we will see the ancient Jewish cemetery, then we will inspect the ruins of the main attraction - the Church of St. Casimir. On the outskirts of Ryasno, we will examine the remains of the estate of the landowner Spytkov: a house, outbuildings, fragments of a garden.


Next, we will visit the monument of wooden architecture of neoclassicism - the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bastenovichi.

We will visit the local St. Elijah's Church, where the famous Belarusian writer Maxim Goretsky was baptized.

Next, we move to Bogatkovka, where we will get acquainted with M. Goretsky's stepfather's house. Thanks to the museum founded here, we will explore the interiors of the village house of the Goretsky family.

We will visit the Mazolovo monastery, founded in the 14th century. Only one church has survived from the Orthodox monastery, built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.


Then we go to Mstislavl, one of the oldest cities in Belarus. One of the most famous site is Castle Hill, the former brainchild of the ancient city where the castle-fortress was located. Castle Hill has become a popular tourist destination, where a knight's festival is held annually. Mstislavl is also distinguished by its many temples. We will visit the Alexander Nevsky Church and the Transfiguration Church, which have their own unique history and architectural value.

The last point of the route is the town of Pustynki. The oldest Orthodox monastery in Mogilev region, the Pustynki Monastery, is located here. An extraordinarily peaceful place, where thousands of pilgrims and tourists come.…
