Treasures of Belarus: Zalesye-Smorgon-Soly-Ostrovets-Gervyaty-Vornyany.

Description

Welcome to a journey through the north of western Belarus, where you will find picturesque landscapes, rich history and unique architecture.

Our tour begins in Zalesye, where the Oginsky estate is located. This is a real gem of estate and park architecture of the 19th century. Mikhail Kleofas Oginsky, a famous composer and politician, the author of the immortal polonaise "Farewell to the Motherland", lived and worked here.

Then we will go to Smorgon, where the majestic Church of St. Michael the Archangel is located. This temple, built in the first half of the 17th century, is the most important architectural asset of the city.

Then our way lies to the agro-town of Soly, famous for its unique church of the Mother of God Ruzhentsova. You will be delighted by its original appearance, combining elements of different architectural styles.

The next stop is the town of Ostrovets, where two interesting churches await us at once: the Church of Saints Kozma and Demyan, one of the main architectural monuments of the XVIII century in the Classical style with Baroque elements, and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Neo–Romanesque style with Gothic elements.

The gem of our tour will be the agro-town of Gervyaty, where the majestic Neo-Gothic Church of the Holy Trinity is located. It is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful and tallest in Belarus. Let's look at the building of the former watermill, built in a rare architectural style of half-timbered.

The tour will end in the village of Vornyany, where the late Baroque St. George's Church, built in 1769, is located. We will visit a picturesque island with a tower in the middle of a pond and see the only drawbridge in the country.

This tour will certainly leave you with unforgettable impressions and will help you discover the beauty and richness of Belarusian culture.
