Sights of Slutsk.
Description
At a distance of one hundred kilometers from the city of Minsk, there is a city whose name, according to local historians, comes from the Sluch River. This is the city of Slutsk. And in this tour we will get acquainted with its main attractions.
A notable landmark of the city is Gymnasium No. 1, founded in 1617. Surprisingly, the oldest school in the country still holds classes and students study according to schedule.
While walking through Slutsk, we will not miss the opportunity to approach the House of the Noble Assembly. For almost two centuries, until 1917, this place served as a center for the local aristocracy: significant transactions were concluded here, balls were held and other important issues were resolved. Currently, the building houses a museum of local lore, a visit to which will allow us to immerse ourselves in the history of the city and reveal its secrets.
We will visit the unique architectural ensemble of the 19th century - the Postal station, and also see the building of the former commercial college.
We will also admire the unique examples of religious architecture - the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, built at the end of the XVIII century and St. Michael's Cathedral of the 18th century.
Visiting these and other attractions of the city will give you new impressions and knowledge, as well as help you feel the atmosphere of this city.
