Description
Grodno region is famous for its historical and cultural treasures. Ancient Orthodox churches occupy a prominent place here. This trip will give you the opportunity to plunge into the past, admire the beauty of architectural monuments and see the unique temples of this region.
Let's start our tour in Vysotsk. Here we will visit the stone Orthodox church of St. Nicholas, as well as a stone mill and the grave of soldiers of the First World War.
The next point on our route is the village of Derevnaya. Here we will see the wooden church of the Holy Trinity, which was first mentioned in documents during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1745.
Then we will go to Slonim, one of the oldest cities in Belarus. Walking along Slonim, we will enjoy the architecture of the houses of the past centuries and the narrow winding streets that have retained their original appearance. Here we will visit the water tower, St. Andrew's Church, the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Benedictine Monastery and the Austeria building. A walk through the central square will give you the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the city.
The next point on our route is Bolshye Shilovichi. Here we will visit the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and inspect the old graves near the temple.
The final point of our tour will be Zhirovichi, famous for its Zhirovichi Monastery, which is one of the most important spiritual centers in Belarus. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as learn more about Orthodox culture and traditions.
