The roads of the ancient Slavgorod district.

Description

We begin our journey to Slavgorod district with the Memorial Complex in the village of Lesnaya, erected here in honor of the 200th anniversary of the victory of the Russian troops over the Swedish corps of General A. Levenhout in the battle of 1708 near the village of Lesnaya.

Then we visit Slavgorod or ancient Propoisk (before 1945), one of the oldest settlements in Belarus. It was first recorded in the annals in 1136. According to legend, the city got its modern name thanks to Stalin's personal decision. Thanks to government support and the efforts of local residents, today it is a small but picturesque and attractive region that is becoming more comfortable every year, attracting many tourists. And indeed, there is something to see here... Castle Hill, 18th century post station, Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1791-1793), memorial sign "Anchor".

We conclude the trip with a visit to a natural monument of national significance - Blue Krinitsa. A spring with the purest turquoise water comes from the bowels of the earth here, which never freezes. This is not only a state-protected hydrological site, but also a place revered by believers. For centuries, pilgrims have flocked here in the hope of healing and to take with them some healing water, in which, according to legend, Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich baptized the Radimichi back in the 10th century....
