To the holy places of the Brest region (route No. 1): Zhabinka-Khmelevo-Pelishche-Tevli.
Description
We will start our tour of the holy places of the Brest region along this route in Zhabinka. Here we will visit an ancient temple with its rich history. Today, the Church of St. Nikita is more than 520 years old! This church was often visited by representatives of the Kosciuszko family. We will inspect the interior of the temple and take time to pray. We will also visit the Holy Protection Church here and admire the interior of the church: 12 artistic compositions depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ.
The next stop will be the village of Khmelevo, where The Transfiguration Church and the monastery. The most revered icons here are the Khmelevskaya replica of the miraculous Icon of the Mother of God of Czestochowa and the ancient icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This temple is an important spiritual center for local residents. Today, pilgrims from all over the world come here to worship and receive healing, especially from serious ailments. The Khmelevsky Monastery is also famous for the fact that services are held here specifically for people with various addictions.
Next we head to Pelishche, famous for its stone Catholic church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. You will be able to see unique church relics and chat with local residents.
We will finish our tour in the village of Tevli, where the Holy Dormition Church is located. Here you can participate in the service or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We will also visit the ancient Chapel of St. Dmitry, located in the local cemetery, famous for military graves at the site of the battle of Napoleon's dragoons with the Russian cavalry in 1812.
This tour will not only introduce you to the history and culture of the region, but also give you the opportunity to reflect on spiritual values.
