Osipovichi and Glusk districts: Memorial complex "Rassokha"-Kazimirovo-Britsalovichi-Osipovichi-Kohonovka-Gorodok-Glusk.

Description

Our tour opens with the 'Rassokha' memorial complex, which includes about 40 graves, where over 80 partisans are buried. A central stele depicting partisans, a woman and a child is installed in front of the graves.

Next, we head to the town of Kazimirovo, where we will see the wooden catholic church of St. Joseph, built in 1906 in the style of folk architecture.

Next, we will visit another memorial complex "Britsalovichi", a symbol of grief for those who died at the hands of the Nazis. This complex includes an architectural and sculptural group: a statue of a grieving mother holding a child, and next to it a figure of a murdered man. The tragedy in Britsalovichi reflects the fate of many Belarusian villages destroyed during the war.

Then we will stop in Osipovichi, where we will visit the wooden Holy Cross Church, built in 1826 in the style of folk architecture.

The next destination will be the monastery in honor of the Mother of God "Life-giving Spring" (Proschanskaya Pustyn) icon, a place of grace located in a picturesque forest near the Kohonovka village. According to historical evidence, since ancient times there has been a temple in honor of the Mother of God "Joy of All the Sorrowful" icon, built near a spring with healing water in 1866.

In the village of Gorodok, we will see the Orthodox Church of Saints Cosma and Damian, built in the early 19th century during the Russian Empire in the style of wooden folk architecture with classical features.

We conclude our tour in Glusk, where the fortifications of the castle, existed during the period of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th and 17th centuries, have partially been preserved. A stone church and a monastery of the Bernardines Catholic Order were built on the territory of the castle. The church was blown up after the Great Patriotic War in Soviet times. The foundations and part of the walls have been preserved to our time.

Come here and get to know the sights and beauties of these places better!
