Orsha is multifaceted.
Description
Almost a thousand years of history has left its mark on the appearance of the city.
There are Baroque monasteries, a mountain on which a medieval castle stood, and temples with monasteries built centuries ago.
Napoleon Bonaparte and Stendhal visited here.
Here, a rocket launcher, popularly called Katusha, fired its first salvo, and Konstantin Zaslonov, one of the most famous partisans, operated at the railway junction.
Orsha is the hometown of one of the most famous and original Belarusian writers, Vladimir Korotkevich.
All this and much more can be seen and learned by visiting this wonderful city.
