The legacy of the Radziwill family: castles, palaces and temples of Belarus.

Description

The majestic Radziwill family, which played a key role in the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, left an indelible mark on the Belarusian land.

This tour of their legacy will allow you to touch the era of powerful tycoons, whose ambitions, taste and power were embodied in stone.

The route covers iconic monuments associated with the dynasty. You will visit the pearls of Nesvizh and Mir castles, which are included in the UNESCO list.

These powerful fortress-residences, founded by Nicholas Radziwill "Sirotka" (Orphan), amaze with their scale and preserve the spirit of a bygone era.

You will also see spiritual centers created on the initiative and at the expense of the family: the first Baroque church of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - the Orthodox Church in Nesvizh with a unique family tomb, monasteries of Bernardines and Benedictines, as well as temples in Mir, Novy Sverzhen and Chernavchitsy.

The tour will introduce you to the urban planning projects of the Radziwills, such as the ancient town hall in Nesvizh, and their country residences, the Alba and Annopol estates.

You will learn about their contribution to culture and education by visiting the Slutsk Belt Museum in Slutsk and the country's oldest school, founded by Janusz Radziwill.

This journey will reveal the diversity of the Radziwills' heritage, from monumental castles to elegant palaces and temples, allowing for a new look at the history of Belarus.
