Myadel region is rich not only in its nature and lakes, including the largest lake in Belarus, Naroch, but also in temples.There are a lot of them here: Catholic, Orthodox, very ancient, and modern.Many of them are in ruins, and many still serve people.We will visit some of them as part of our tour. The main shrine of these places is the church in Budslav, or rather, the icon of the Mother of God, which believers consider miraculous. If you believe the legends, back in the XVI century, the Bernardine monks who lived in Budslav had a vision of the Virgin Mary, after which pilgrims began to go to the place. They still do. To worship in front of her and leave their requests, pilgrims are ready to walk several hundred kilometers from various places.I suggest you go on a similar journey.In a good way!

The Calvary, or the way of the cross, is an exact replica of the Way of the Cross in Jerusalem. The road is a complex of eight arches and twenty-one wooden chapels on a stone foundation.

The church is wooden on a rubble stone foundation, built in the style of folk wooden architecture.

An excellent location for ruins-therapy: only picturesque ruins remain from the former greatness, and even the name of this place has sunk into oblivion..

The architecture of the temple is characterized by harmonious proportions and expressive forms, which makes it attractive to both believers and tourists. The interior of the church with its beautiful icons and murals is also noteworthy and reflects the rich spiritual tradition of the region.

We continue the session of ruins-therapy: the roof of the church has long since collapsed, almost all the ceilings have fallen, but the walls are still standing, preserving the memory of the former greatness of this place. 
This is an interesting place for people who love history.

Having a modern look, the temple has been standing here for more than 250 years and has a rich history.

Budslav belonged to the ancient Belarusian Oskerko family, starting from the 16th century, from the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, until the arrival of Soviet power in 1939. 
The park, stone gates, several outbuildings and a stone building have been preserved to this day.
There are several graves of the Oskerko family in the local cemetery.

One of the three churches in Belarus, bearing the title of minor basilica. This honorary title is given by the Vatican only to special churches in very rare cases, in order to emphasize the extremely important role of the church for Catholics.
The chapel houses an icon of the Mother of God, one of the most revered images in Belarus, brought from Rome.
In 1996, Pope John Paul II declared this icon the patron saint of Belarus.
You don't have to be a believer to be inspired by the beauty and splendor of this place.

Everyone goes to the town of Budslaw in Myadel district to see the majestic church. 
And the famous Belarusian actress and public figure Pavlina Vintsentovna Myadelka (1893-1974) was born in Budslav.
