Kruglyansky region: Tubyshki-Krugloe-Lyskovshchina-Dudakovichi-Kamennoe Krivoe-Drutsk-Reuchye.
Description
Kruglyansky district is a picturesque area of Belarus, a region famous for its rich past, architectural heritage and culture.
We start our journey from the village of Tubyshki, where Russian General Mikhail Grigoryevich Chernyaev, the national hero of Serbia and the first governor of Turkestan, lived from 1884 to 1898. From the estate of the XIX century, where he lived, only a stone with a carved memorial inscription has been preserved, and only ruins have remained of the St. Nicholas Church. The general is buried near the temple, where a monument has been erected to him.
Then we will go to the town of Krugloe to see its main attraction, the Holy Trinity Church. This temple is located in the center of the city and was built according to ancient canons.
The next stop is the 'Nikolaevsky Ponds' Tourist Complex. Here we will visit the House Museum of the artist Nevrev, the USSR Gallery, the Chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker... If desired, you can take a leisurely stroll along linden alley, ride a catamaran, swim and play beach volleyball.
In the village of Dudakovichi, we will visit the Intercession Church, a remarkable example of architecture in pseudo-Russian style, built of brick in the second half of the 19th century. The church requires restoration and is included in "Historical and Cultural Monuments" list.
After that, we will find the ruins of a watermill near the village of Kamennoe Krivoe. Let's admire the remains of the building and take beautiful atmospheric photos.
Next, we will head to a unique attraction - the only archaeological monument in the country, where all parts of the ancient settlement of the early Middle Ages have been preserved in the form of mounds. At one time, it was the center of the appanage of the principality of Drutsk.
We will finish our route at the Homentovsky family estate. The ruins of an outbuildings and a tomb chapel have been preserved from the estate. Nearby we will examine several tombs of the Khomentovskys.
