We will visit the city of Chechersk, which is located at the confluence of the rivers Chechera and Sozh. It is assumed that about 26 millennia ago, this territory attracted ancient people who founded the Berdyzhskaya camp here on the banks of the Sozh River. The tributaries of this river are considered part of the ancient trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks." The first mention of Chechersk dates back to 1159, when it was part of the Chernigov Principality. It turns out that many of the heroic deeds of Prince Oleg Svyatoslavovich, described in the "Song of Prophetic Oleg", are associated with these places.
At the Bread Museum in Botvinovo, we will learn about the tricks of kneading dough, we will be able to try ourselves as a baker and see ancient tools.
We will explore the unique expositions of the Vetkovsky Museum of Old Believers and Belarusian Traditions, discovering a lot of interesting things.
We will stop in Dobrush, a quiet district town located in the south of the Gomel region. During a guided tour of the city, we will see St. Nicholas Church, a monument to the national writer of Belarus Ivan Shamyakin, and a complex of buildings of the famous paper mill. Let's be surprised at the abundance of bridges – there are as many as 13 of them! Dobrusha has two rivers and a dozen canals. The landscapes are almost Venetian. Let's take a walk along the oldest Dobrush Bridge. We will visit the Dobrush regional Museum of Local Lore. This museum of historical orientation tells about the history of the region from ancient times to the present.
