The hospital building was built in 1913 by Princess Irina Ivanovna Paskevich, and since then there have been medical facilities here all the time.
You will hear this name more than once: the princess has done a lot for the city and its inhabitants. 
A street has even been named in her honor and a monument has been erected.

In 1794, on the site of the previously dismantled Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Old Believers built and illuminated St. Elijah's Church, which is still in operation today and is the oldest surviving Old Believer church in Belarus. 
According to some reports, the well-known Yemelyan Pugachev visited and prayed in this church twice.

The temple was built in 1905 in the 17th century Moscow-Yaroslavl Baroque style with a distinctive tent-roofed bell tower, kokoshniks, window frames and shaped brick details.

It is symbolic that the museum is located in the premises of Gomel's most famous photo studio, which has been operating here for more than 50 years.
Here you can explore the history of photography throughout the 20th century, both from the point of view of technical evolution and as an art form. The presented collections reflect domestic and global trends.
It also contains materials on the history of print media and printing houses in the Gomel region over the past 100 years. Among the exhibits are printing devices, archival photographs, old black-and-white newspaper pages, and colorful posters.

Gabriel Vashchenko's paintings are in 28 major museums in the world, including 12 paintings in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, which once again confirms his worldwide recognition: the Cambridge International Biographical Center named him "Man of the 20th Century" and "Man of the Year-92".
In 1995, he was awarded the Francisca Skorina Medal.
In 1999, Vashchenko joined the Board of Directors of the American Biographical Institute.
The permanent exhibition of the art gallery presents the works of Gavriil Kharitonovich, painted by him in the period from 1950 to 2005.

The house was built in 1929-1931 and at that time was the tallest and largest building in pre-war Gomel. 
It was also the first building in Gomel equipped with an elevator.
It is one of the few buildings in the city that managed to survive during the Second World War.

Built in 1914-1916, the building is made of brick and features an asymmetrical three-dimensional composition dominated by angular volume. It is an example of Art Nouveau architecture and an important monument of the country's cultural heritage.

On October 22, 1904, St. Nicholas Church was consecrated. 
Until 1990, it was the only functioning Orthodox church in Gomel.
In 1995, the St. Nicholas Monastery was established.
A number of shrines are kept here, which believers from all over the country come to worship.

The house was built before the war for the pilots of the Gomel military airfield and their families. 
It was at the Gomel airfield that the special purpose flight detachment stood, which became the prototype of the Soviet assault aviation. 
Here, in the summer of 1928, the unit of the future Hero of the Soviet Union Valery Chkalov took part in the exercises.

The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God was built in 1886.
In 2012, Italian artist Fabio Nones created a five-meter-high fresco of the altar icon of the church. The fresco depicts the faces of Saints Andrew and Peter, symbolizing the unity of the Eastern and Western Churches, as well as the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The book that Christ holds is written in Belarusian: "Love your enemies. I'll come quickly, stay awake"

The church was founded by Count Rumyantsev, who owned a homestead in Gomel, in 1817 on the site where the wooden church used to stand.
The talented architect John Clark was invited from England to build the temple, and the local icon painter Sazonov was sent to study art abroad at the Academy of Fine Arts to paint the main altar.
Today it is an active temple, where locals come daily to pray.
