What to see in Belarus in 2-3 days: Gomel-Vetka-Krasny Bereg-Zhilichi-Bobruisk.

Description

This rich itinerary will allow you to explore the diversity of the east of Belarus in a few days, from the architectural masterpieces of a major city to private estates and monuments with a tragic history.

Your journey will begin in Gomel, where you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a pre-revolutionary city.

You will see the elegant apartment buildings of Lavyanov and Mayants, the monumental building of the Russian-Asian Bank and the former City Duma.

The Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace and Park ensemble is the heart of the city. You will visit the palace itself with its rich museum collection, the majestic Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Paskevich family tomb and the amazing Winter Garden with subtropical plants.

The tour of Gomel will be completed by climbing the observation tower, which offers a panoramic view of the city.

Next, the path lies to the Vetka, where the unique museum of the Old Believers is located.

His collection of icons, manuscripts and household items has no analogues in the country.

The next stop is Krasny Bereg.

Two contrasting objects await you here: the fabulous Kozell-Poklevsky manor, reminiscent of a Bavarian castle with luxurious interiors, and the poignant memorial to war victims, the only one in the CIS.

In Zhilichi, the "second Nesvizh" awaits you — the grandiose Bulgak's Palace, recently renovated and striking in scale and richness of decoration.

The final point of the route is picturesque Bobruisk, the unofficial Jewish capital of Belarus.

You will stroll through its cozy streets, see the famous Port Arthur house, the wooden Katznelson mansion, the Neo-Gothic church and the synagogue.

Be sure to take a picture with the bronze Shura Balaganov and visit the mighty Bobruisk fortress, whose ruins preserve the memory of the war of 1812.

This tour is perfectly balanced: it has history, architecture, art, and moments for reflection, which will allow you to create a multifaceted impression of Belarus.
