A large expedition to the north of Belarus.
Description
The north of Belarus is terra incognita for many travelers, a real treasure trove of original history, architectural monuments and untouched nature. This route will take you through the Vitebsk region, from Rosson to the Braslav Lakes, discovering places where time has frozen in stone of ancient ruins, reflections of crystal lakes and majestic temples.
The journey begins in Rossony, where you will be greeted by the Glazko nobles Palace, a neo—Gothic masterpiece that looks like a castle from a medieval legend.
Next, the path leads to the legendary spring "Serebryanka" near the village of Klyastitsy, whose water is famous for its healing properties.
You will touch the past as you explore the mysterious ruins of the palaces in Osveya and Osada Dedino, which silently preserve the memory of the greatness of bygone eras.
The heart of the northern nature is the huge marshlands of the 'Yelnya' Nature Reserve and the unique uninhabited island of Doo on Lake Osveiskoe, which can be reached with an excursion. Silence and pristine beauty reign here. The architectural gems of the region are innumerable: the elegant "stone lace" of the church in Sarya, the monumental church in Vidzy, the tallest in the country, and the modest but poignant shrine in Rositsa, which preserves the memory of tragic pages of history.
The route will also take you to the highest points — mount Mayak (Lighthouse), which offers endless panoramas of the Braslav Lakes, and to the largest waterfall in Belarus on the Vyata river. You will see ancient artifacts: the Borisov Stone in Druya and the column in honor of the Constitution in Leonpol.
This expedition is an immersion into the multifaceted world of the north of Belarus, where every kilometer of the way brings a new discovery, and history comes to life in the bizarre forms of architecture and the harsh beauty of landscapes.
This is a trip for those who want to see the real, unexplored Belarus!
